Obituary: Daune McCulloch

A memorial service for Daune McCulloch, 80, of Quincy, Ill., was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Christ Lutheran Church, Quincy. Visitation was Monday, June 3, from 10 a.m. – noon at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport, followed by a funeral service at noon at the mortuary. Interment was in Davenport Memorial Park.

Mrs. McCulloch died Sunday, May 26, 2019, at her home.

Daune Hall was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Roderfield, W.V., the daughter of Oliver and June (Lusk) Hall. She graduated from Welch (W.V.) High School, and attended the Gayle Institute in Minneapolis to train for airline employment.

She married David McCulloch.

She managed The Record Shop in Duck Creek Plaza for 10 years, was in management at the Davenport Red Lobster for six years, and later managed the Union Arcade Building in Davenport for Scott Community College.

Her hobbies were spending time with her family, playing cards, especially bridge, and bowling.

Survivors include her husband; her children, June (Randy) Reimers, Walcott, Joy Wangsness, Phoenix, Ariz., Jeffrey (Shelley) Wangsness, Ankeny, and Jennifer (Reth) Stollberg, Quincy; her stepchildren, Randy (Steve) Wulf, LeClaire, Kelly (Mike) Talbot, Princeton, and Patty (Scott) Brendecke, Superior, Colo.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her brother-in-law, Gene (Janie) McCulloch, Ft. Atkinson, Wis.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jay Alan Wangsness; and a brother-in-law, Jay McCulloch.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church of Quincy.
