A funeral service for Carol J. Peters, 77, of Davenport, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 22 (today), from 4-7 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport.
Mrs. Peters died Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society, Davenport.
Carol Collins was born Dec. 8, 1940, in Davenport, the daughter of Urban and Mildred Collins.
She married Harley “Jim” Peters on Dec. 26, 1957, in Davenport.
She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Her hobbies were playing cards, knitting and doing paint embroidery, reading the Bible and daily devotions, spending time with her family, and going out to dinner with her husband.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Christine (Verne) Christopherson, Long Grove; a grandson, Michael Christopherson; and her sisters, Garnett (Glen) Branding, LaClede, Mo., and Diann (Dennis) Warner, Huntsville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Christopherson, and a brother, Wayne Collins.
