Obituary: Arlene Riessen

A funeral service for Arlene V. Riessen, 65, of Walcott, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Interment was in the Walcott Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, March 31, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Riessen died Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Arlene Wade was born May 6, 1953, in Chariton, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Hazel (Lamb) Wade. She graduated from Albia High School and Muscatine Community College with a degree in criminal justice.

She married Richard Riessen on Aug. 22, 1987, in Davenport.

She retired in 2010 as the administrator for the State of Iowa, Scott County Pretrial Release Program.

She was a member of the Davenport Unitarian Church.

Her hobbies were playing cards and dominos with friends, watching movies, and going to garage sales and shopping.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lorena Riessen, North Liberty; a son, Edwin Riessen, Walcott; her sisters, Sandy Wade, Lovilia, Iowa, Crystal Stansberry, Oskaloosa, and Tamie (Cameron) Watson, Albia; and a brother, Jim Wade, Moravia, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Wade.
