Jeanette Keppy to note 100th birthday with open house

Jeanette Keppy of Eldridge will celebrate her 100th birthday with an open house on Sunday, Dec. 1. Friends and relatives may call from 1-3 p.m. at Grand Haven Retirement Community, Eldridge. No gifts, please. If you are unable to attend, please send at card to her at 201 E. Franklin St., Room 608, Eldridge, IA 52748.

Jeanette Hendes was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Charlotte. She married Allan Rohwer in 1941 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport. He died in 1960. She later married Arnold Keppy in 1975 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He died in 1987.

She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1975.

She is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Dixon American Legion Auxiliary.

She is the mother of Gary (Connie) Rohwer of Fort Myers, Fla., and Pat (Bob) Reese of Eldridge. Her stepsons are Ron (Sharalan) Keppy, Bob (Maureen) Keppy, Steve (Sharon) Keppy, and the late Dr. Ken Keppy, and her stepdaughter-in-law is Lois Keppy.

Her grandchildren are Kim (Steve) Lorenz and Mike (Angie) Reese. She has four great-grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren; 27 step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
