Jane Cochran of Davenport celebrated her 85th birthday with a private party with family and friends on July 21.
Jane Brus was born in McCausland. She is a retired professor emeritus at Southwest Community College, Creston, Iowa.
She was a longtime resident of Eldridge, and is an active member of Newcomb Presbyterian Church, Davenport. She is an avid gardener and bird watcher, and bowls with The Daisies and The Has-Beens. She enjoys traveling across the country, visiting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her children are Kathy (Ted) Sandrock and Mike (Cheryl) McGuire, all of Davenport, Susan (Dave) Stanton of Longview, Texas, Ann (John) Bateman of Maryville, Tenn., John McGuire, Ph.D. of Stillwater, Okla., Dave (Terrie) McGuire of Spring, Texas, Janet McGuire of Camas, Wash., Joe (Jayna) McGuire of Polk City, Iowa, and Maureen McGuire (John Hessler) of Beaver Dam, Wis.
Her grandchildren are Terry Sandrock, Jamie Riedell, Mat Riedell, Lindsay O’Brien, Richie O’Brien, Jessica Ostrander, Cody Ostrander, Leo Welsh, Lisa Welsh, Jason Bateman, Beth Bateman, Matt Engel, Amy Engel, Sarah Perkins, Ben Perkins, Wendy Bentley, Alex Bentley, Jenny Garrison, Brandan Garrison, Erin Wittstock, Daniel McGuire, Kristan McGuire, Jake McGuire, Kurt McGuire, Brendan Hessler, and Colleen McGuire. She has 17 great-grandchildren.
