Elsbeth Noel to mark 90th birthday with open house Nov. 5

Elsbeth Noel of Long Grove will celebrate her 90th birthday on Sunday, Nov. 5. Family and friends are invited to an open house from 1-3 p.m. at St. Ann’s Center in Long Grove. No gifts, please.

Elsbeth Emma Schmahl was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Michigan. She married LaVern Noel April 22, 1950, at St. Ann’s Church. She enjoys her family, traveling, playing cards, board games, and crocheting.

Her nine children include: Emilie (Doug) Zehr of Bondurant, the late Carey (Tom) Toohey, Ken (Kathie) Noel of Fruitland, Diane Noel (Scott Eyre) of Port Byron, Ill., Noreen (Bob) Warren of Long Grove, Barb (Pete) Hyde of Eldridge, Ed Noel of Long Grove, Dean Noel of Davenport, and Fran (Sam) Lisle of Fairview, Texas.

Elsbeth is blessed with 20 grandchildren: Beth (Brian) Wilkinson, Jay (Sam) Zehr, Chris (Jen) Toohey, Katie DeLaRosa, Tricia Toohey, Hilary (Austin) Henke, Clarissa Noel (J.J. Raushenberger), Bucky Warren, Mandy (Zach) Hill, Rocky Warren, Joe (Jill) Warren, Jessy Warren, Sam (Nate) Cato, Bria (Matt) Schwien, Alexis (Thomas) Brodersen, Nicole Quick, Isaac Lisle, Seth Lisle, Bekah Lisle, and Adam Lisle; and two step-grandchildren, Niomi Elston (Josh Anderson) and Nick Eyre.

She also has 30 great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
