Amanda Burroughs, of Eldridge, and Mark Schwers, of West Des Moines, are excited to announce their engagement. The couple currently resides in Scottsdale, Ariz. Parents of the bride are Ray and Lori Burroughs of Eldridge, and her grandparents are Derryl and June Baustian of Eldridge. Mark is the son of Chris Schwers of Adel, Iowa, and Pamela Schwers of Ankeny, Iowa.
Amanda is a 2013 graduate of North Scott High School and a 2018 graduate of The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She is a radiation therapist with the Arizona Center for Cancer Care. Mark is a 2013 graduate of Valley High School and a 2017 graduate of Iowa State University. He is a first-grade teacher at BASIS Phoenix Primary.
A May 2019 wedding will take place in Sedona, Ariz., with an Iowa celebration to follow at a later date.
