Roger and Mary Bender are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Mary Nation and Roger Bender were united in marriage on Aug. 24, 1968 at the United Methodist Church in Sioux Rapids.
Rev. Paul Potler officiated the ceremony. Maid of honor was Candace (Nation) Moore. Rich Conklin served as the best man.
Roger was employed with North Star Steel-Gerdau until his retirement in 2007. Mary was employed as a legal assistant with Allbee, Barclay and Denning until her retirement in 2014.
They have two sons, Corey Bender of Newburyport, Massachusetts, and Dustin Bender of Atalissa. They have one grandson, Henry Bender.
