Oct. 1, 2003: Iowa’s first lady Christie Vilsack visited Eldridge, where she toured the Scott County Library and held a public forum to discuss this particular project and also other Iowa achievements that were helping to transform the Iowa economy. She presented a proclamation from the governor to Eldridge mayor Frank Wood. The document declared that Sept. 23 had been designated as “Pride in Eldridge Day.” more
