Two teens face adult felonies for Eldridge armed robbery

A 15-year-old Eldridge boy was robbed at gunpoint early Monday afternoon, and two suspects were arrested shortly thereafter.

Donahue Legion sends two to Boys State

The American Legion of Iowa Boys State is a week-long, hands-on experience in the operation of the democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Iowa government. Through the Boys State objective of learning by doing, delegates will learn about city, county, and state government more in one week than they would in a semester of high school civics.

Pastor installation service planned

German Consulate celebrates Center's 25th

Preview of ‘Country Music’ from PBS slated Sept. 12 in Davenport Iowa Public Television will preview the newest film from Ken Burns, "Country Music" on Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the River Music Experience in downtown Davenport. The long-awaited documentary chronicles the history of country music from many of the greats, including the Carter Family, Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Loretta Lynn.
