High school seniors intending to further their education while pursuing programs of study in any field of agriculture, environmental science, or natural resources, have until Feb. 15,  2019, to apply.  The Scott County Soil & Water Conservation District will award two $1,000 scholarships in Scott County. In addition, one recipient's application will be forwarded to the state level to compete for scholarship awards of $3,000, $2,000, $1,000 or six $500 awards. more

North Scott officials estimate up to 70 percent of the high school student body has participated in the Juuling craze. Students peg that number to be even higher. Since the beginning of the school year, 19 high school students have been suspended from classes for using Juuls or similar devices. That represents 38 percent of all suspensions. more
